Will Carruthers presents: Natty Brooker, the art of Spacemen 3

INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed British artist Natty Brooker brings an exhibition of his groundbreaking work to Sheffield this July.

Natty Brooker is best know for his collaboration with legendary bands Spaceman 3 and Spiritualised and that work will be reflected in one of the year’s most important and exciting art displays.

Following successful shows in Los Angeles, Berlin, Copenhagen, Glasgow and London, The Art of Spaceman 3: The Hallucinatory Art of Natty Brooker, opens at SmartArtGalleries, at 249 Baslow Road, Sheffield, on July 17.

And with the artist now suffering from cancer, this will be a unique opportunity to buy an original piece of Natty Brooker art.

Curated by friend and former bandmate Will Carruthers, the show is the culmination of a lifetime’s work for the artist.

“Natty is a genius pure and simple,” said Will. “His influence as an artist on the British music scene was far reaching.”

The Art of Spaceman 3 has been brought to Sheffield by SmartArtGalleries owner Michael Mackevych, whose stable of well established local and national artists includes Joe Scarborough, Trevor Neal, Matt Wood, Mike Jackson, Lynne Wilkinson, Kate Jackson, Dennis Middleton and Jasper Prachek.

“Once again, SmartArtGalleries is bringing work of international significance to Sheffield,” said Michael. “With live music and DJ sets plus some special guests this is going to be a memorable opening and a great chance to see ground-breaking work by a major artist.”

The Art of Spaceman 3: The Hallucinatory Art of Natty Brooker, opens with a preview evening at SmartArtGalleries on July 17 from 8pm till late.
